Lindener committed to stand trial in High Court

A Lindener was committed to stand trial in the High Court after a prima facie case was made out against him at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.

Leonard Romain is accused of murdering Seibert Moore also called “Cammy” at Frenchman backdam on January 2, 2015.

The preliminary inquiry was conducted by Magistrate Clive Nurse. During the PI the defendant, who stood in the docks of the court, gave an unsworn statement.

Magistrate Nurse found that the statement was freely and willingly given and that there was sufficient evidence for the matter to be tried at the next sitting of the High Court.

Romain was remanded to prison pending his trial before a judge and jury.
