A Lindener who failed to show up in court on Thursday, was sentenced in absentia to 18 months imprisonment after he was found guilty of breaking and entering and larceny. Presiding Magistrate Clive Nurse found Romano Hamblin guilty of breaking and entering the home of Kayla McBean at Phase 1 Wisroc, Wismar, Linden on October 3, 2017.
The prosecution had contended that the 26-year-old man stole a gas bottle valued $10,000 and 16 plum fitted caps valued $40,000. The total value of the stolen items, which were the property of McBean, amounted to $50,000.
An warrant has since been issued for Hamblin’s arrest.
