Lindener wanted for drive-by shooting

The Police has issued a wanted bulletin for 26-year-old Samorea Mitchell of Lot 716 Phase 1 “B” Wisroc, Linden for questioning in relation to murder committed on Delroy Mckenzie, and attempted murder committed on Calvin Daly which occurred two weeks ago.

McKenzie, who hails from Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown was riddled with bullets on July 17, 2021 at around 21:50h at Sunflower Street, Wismar in Linden during a drive-by shooting.

It was reported that on July 17, both McKenzie and Daly went to Linden via public transportation and went to a popular fast-food place to make a purchase.
While at the location, Daly said McKenzie was given directions from his female friend via telephone to join a boat at the Mackenzie shore.
On arrival at the Wismar shore, the man called the female and was given further directions but a short while after she called him back and told him to turn around since she would be sending a car to pick them up.

The torched car found at Blue Water Lake

As both men walked out of Sunflower Street, they saw a silver wagon car turned around and as McKenzie approached the car to open the back door, a man opened the door first and started to shoot at him.
Another male came out of the front passenger seat and opened fire too.
Daly reportedly ran for cover, and the car which had three male occupants re-joined the car and drove in a southern direction towards Silver City Street.
McKenzie was shot nine times, according to the autopsy.
Sometime later, the motor car that was involved in the drive-by shooting was found torched at Blue Water Lake, Kara Kara, Linden.
Police stated that a party of policemen was on patrol duty in the vicinity of Blue Water Lake when they observed a fully burnt silver-grey Fielder wagon on the southern side of Blue Lake Access Road.
