Live theatre is back with “Link Show 36” next weekend

After a few years of hiatus, the “Link Show” will return for its 36th production at the National Cultural Centre between July 1 and 4, 2022.
The Theatre Company and GEMS Theatre Productions are rearing to go with the cast of 20-plus seasoned actors for the annual satirical review, “Link Show 36”.
The Link Show started in November 1981 and has missed a few years during its 41-year life span, and is now in its 36th production.
It is the longest-running theatrical production and has unreservedly attracted the largest theatre audience in Guyana’s history, with Link Show 25 running for 16 performances in the 2000-seat National Cultural Centre and 9 performances in Berbice, Linden, and Essequibo.

There has been an abundance of material over the last 2 years to satirise in this upcoming production. Patrons would, once again, be able to sit in the theatre with new seats in the auditorium and enjoy live theatre.
Director Ron Robinson and Co-Producer Gem Madhoo-Nascimento have assembled a cast consisting of many old-timers and a few new faces.
In the line-up are Mark Kazim, Mark Luke Edwards, Sean Thompson, Sean Budnah, Paul Budnah, Stephen Asif Mohamed, Lee Leung, Rovindra Persaud, Travis McKenzie, Calvin Burnett, and veteran link show actor from 1981- Andre Wiltshire alongside Sonia Yarde, Simone Dowding, Sheron Cadogan-Taylor, Makini Thompson, Marissa Morgan, Alicia Charles and newcomer to the Link Show La Tisha DaSilva.
This theatrical presentation is partially sponsored by Team Mohamed. Tickets cost at $3000, $2500 & $2000 and can be uplifted at the National Cultural Centre box office.
The show is expected to commence at 20:00h and patrons are asked to wear masks and sanitise as often as possible. Link Show’s last production was in 2020.
