Mahendra Persaud and Lennox Braithwaite shot their way into the top 10 list of marksmen

The pair of veteran Guyanese riflemen did well against other world ranked snipers with Persaud shooting 72.4 at 900yds and 68.4 at 1000yds, attaining a Grand Aggregate score of 394.24 V’s for his eight spot. Braithwaite, a former West Indies Full-bore individual champ, shot scores of 72.5 at 900yds and 70.6 at 1000yds, ending with a grand aggregate score of 394.40 V’s; thus retaining his sixth place that he held following the completion of the CSF’s Stage 2.
The Guyana NRA Executive Council praised the performances of the pair while President of the West Indies Full-bore Shooting Council (WIFBSC), Major John Nelson sent a congratulatory message to Persaud and Braithwaite which read, “On behalf of the WIFBSC and the region’s shooting family, it gives me great pleasure to extend heartiest congratulations to Mahendra and Lennox on your very fine performance in finishing in the top ten of the recently concluded individual championship at the CSF matches in Belmont, Australia. Very well-done gentlemen you both did us proud.”
Both Persaud and Braithwaite are now scheduled to return home where they will continue their training in preparation for Commonwealth Games 2018. The GNRA also extended its appeal to corporate Guyana and the government for a bit more assistance regarding the support of local shooters.
