Logos Hope, a non-profit organisation will be welcoming Guyanese on board for a diverse cultural experience along with a grand book fair.
The ship will be opened to the public from 22 December 2016 to 08 January 2017, which will facilitate visitors’ interactions with the crew.
Visiting more than 100 ports around the world since 2009, Logos Hope crew members are involved in various practical aid projects, including water purifiers, building projects, book donations, and free of charge eye tests and eye glasses.
The crew of 400 on the ship are from 60 countries of diverse cultures who altogether share a common goal of humanity through social service projects and literature. In their upcoming visit, the Logos Hope team will deliver a number of social services. Bringing good literature to people is another key facet of the ship’s purpose. Logos Hope offers an expanded selection of over 5000 titles of reading pieces at affordable prices. The books are on a variety of topics including science, sports, hobbies, family life and religion and cater for children and adults
In addition to the book fare and cultural experience, the deck of the ship will be opened to the public.
MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships e.V., an international charitable organisation registered in Germany. In almost 40 years of service, the organisation has welcomed 45 million visitors up the gangways in over 150 countries and territories around the world. MV Logos Hope will dock at La Penitence Wharf with the opening hours as follows: Tuesday through Saturday: 10:00 – 20:00h (10:00 am – 8:00 pm); Sundays: 14:00 – 20:00h (2:00 pm through 8:00 pm). Closed on Mondays. Exceptions for opening times on holidays: 24 December: 10:00 – 14:00h (10:00 am – 2:00 pm). 25 December: Closed for Christmas. 31 December: 10:00 – 14:00h (10:00 am – 2:00 pm). 1 January: Closed for New Year’s Day.
Entrance fee is G$100 per person. Adults 65 and over enter free. Children under 12 years enter free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
