A lone gunman on Wednesday afternoon carried out a daring robbery on Bounty Supermarket, in Kitty, Georgetown, carting off a large sum of cash.
The robbery occurred at about 15:00h, however, details at this time remain sketchy.
Guyana Times was informed by an eyewitness that the robbery occurred while customers were in queue waiting to cash out their items. This publication was told that the gunman only robbed the cashiers. Efforts to contact management of the supermarket for a comment on the matter proved futile. This publication was told that CCTV footage from the supermarket has been handed over to Police.
An investigation has been launched.
