A supermarket in New Amsterdam, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), was on Sunday afternoon robbed by a lone gunman.
Reports are that the suspect went into Easy Shopping Enterprise and Document Centre and picked up a few items from the shelves and proceeded to the 14-year-old cashier.

He reportedly pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the cashier and demanded cash.
The teenager handed over $50,000. The bandit then escaped with the money and the items which he picked up from the shelves.
The Police are investigating. (G4)
