The race will commence from 8:00h, and be run in three different categories – Females, Juniors/Juveniles, Masters Over-50 and Under-50, and Open category.
The Open category will be a 15-lap affair, and the winner of that category would bag a cash prize of $60,000. The Masters Under-50 and Over-50 will ride for 10 laps, and each winner thereof would be rewarded with $40,000.
Top female, junior and juvenile riders would each be rewarded with $40,000 in their 10-lap race. The Masters will have the option of choosing which race they prefer to participate in on the day, either the Open or Masters event.
More than 50 riders from across the country have already registered for this event. The city boys would be aiming to dominate the proceedings, but would first have to contend with the Linden and Berbice contingents.
Christopher Griffith, Paul DeNobrega and Curtis Dey from Team Evolution would want to steal the show, while the Berbicians, especially from the Flying Ace Cycling Club, will be aiming to invade the outer circuit.
The likes of Andre “Padlock” Green, top junior rider Mario Washington, veteran Gary Benjamin, Syborne Fernandes, Andre Hicks, Myron Rose and Travis Cipriani, among others, would be aiming to dominate. Linden’s Sunzanne Hamilton, who is also the National Female Champion, would want to extend her dominance in the female category.
