After a long hiatus, the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) will be staging its Lusignan Golf Open, which is set to tee off from August 4-5.

Originally the tournament which was regarded as the championship event within the fraternity before being replaced by the Guyana Open Cup, the tourney permits any player with a verified handicap to participate. Non-members, except for Lusignan residents and caddies, will pay greens fees in addition to tournament fees.
It is the first look at the talented players who are expected to compete in the Guyana Open set for November 3-4, 2018. Prizes for longest drive and nearest to the pin on Day 2 will be showcased at the conclusion of the round.
All players will compete in front of the crowds at tee box #1 for the long drive title down fairway #1 and then hit to the #9 green from the #1 tee box for nearest to the pin.
Some 22 companies are set to be a part of the Lusignan Open and will be on hand to promote their products and services. Lots of prizes will be given away to winners and spectators as organisers seek to make this a fun-filled weekend for everyone.
Members are asked to support their club by selling at least 10 barbecue tickets so that it can fund the summer programme for new players and children. Over 70 members/players on the roster are expected to join in and make the fundraising efforts a success.
Barbecue will be available for pick-up on Sunday from 12:00h and each ticket is eligible to win one of over $200,000 in prizes. The LGC is also calling on any member or friend of the club who wishes to promote their business or services to do so during the Lusignan Open. Registration completed by 16:00h on August 2. Registration fee is $7000
Confirmed registrants will attend a cocktail/media event at the clubhouse on Friday, August 3 at 18:00h. Draw will be announced.
Practice rounds will be played on Friday
Play commences at 12:30h on Saturday and 10:00h on Sunday
Lunch and snacks will be provided along with cold beverages on the course during play
Awards ceremony will commence at 16:00h on Sunday
Prizes for Best Gross Overall places 1-3 and Best Net in all three flights for places 1-3
