Machinery Corporation of Guyana (MACORP) in keeping with the season recently spread some holiday cheer by providing the new executive body of the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) with equipment as they upgrade their venue ahead of what is expected to be a busy 2018.
The recent donation of one Caterpillar Excavator according to new LGC President Aleem Hussain, was a tremendous gesture by the MACORP family and one which ensured that golfers can play a few holes even if the weather isn’t conducive to
golf.
Hussain told Guyana Times Sport on Christmas eve that the Greens were in fantastic shape despite the rainy season as the new executives took some time off their holiday plans to push in some work at the course.
LGC Ground supervisor Mike Guyadin said that without the equipment there would be no hope of playing during the rainy season and as such he thanked the machine giant for their assistance.
Guyadin confirmed that two of the Fairways were already completed and estimates another six weeks for the total completion of the Ground.
He further explained that due to the works being conducted at LGC, golfers can expect fresher Greens, new Tee boxes, excellent drainage and overall a newly upgraded venue.
Both Hussain and Guyadin were confident that 2018 will be a revolutionary year for the fraternity, adding that it is their goal to ensure golf can be play at the highest level, 365 days a year.
The LGC also extended warmest holiday greetings to their golfers locally and overseas, members, staff and to the general public with hopes of a brighter 2018.
