Mae’s Primary School had a warm-up session for the quarterfinals of the National Sports Commission/Ministry of Education/ Al’s Sports & Tour Promotions’ 20th annual end-of-school-year Primary Schools Overhand Windball Cricket Champions Trophy Georgetown division with a comprehensive victory over St. Anne’s Primary School.

Umpires were busy signalling boundaries as batsmen were in aggressive mode

Playing in the boys’ category, Mae’s won the match by 72 runs, recording a mammoth total of 174-1 before restricting St. Anne’s to 102-2.
Scores in the match were: Mae’s 174-1, Antwan Pinto 80 (12x6s), Jonathan Van Lange 78 (11x6s). St. Anne’s 102-2, Kester Singh 56, Jeol Lakhan 35.
In the other matches, North Georgetown and Winfer Gardens recorded wins.
North Georgetown scored 134-1, with Yonnick North registering 46, Shiloh Adams 42, Kellon King 34. Saint Angela’s scored 113-1, with Paul Grant registering 62 and Antonio Mc Arthur 42.
Winfer Gardens scored 103-2, with Yuwen Clementson making 36, Orlando Dickie 32, and Rashidi Taylor 16. Saint Pius recorded 103-0, with Damian Ifill scoring 76 and Akeem Pereira 16.
In the girls’ segment, Mae’s comfortably defeated Graham’s Hall by 44 runs. Mae’s scored 119-0, with Jayna Qualander recording 78 (7x6s) and Sasha Persaud 24. Graham’s Hall could muster only 75-1, with Alecia Elcock scoring 54 and Marcia Ketwaroo 16.
Meanwhile, the Q Finals will be played on Monday, June 26, commencing at 10:00h. the schools that will be in action are last year’s joint winners Sophia and Graham’s Hall, Mae’s, North Georgetown, Winfer Gardens, Stalla Maris, Sophia and Saint Ambrose.
The semifinals and finals will be played on Saturday, July 1st, at the same venue. Semis starts at 16:00h, third place playoff starts at 18:00h, and finals at 19:00h.
