Mahaica, Camptown seal quarter-final spots in Turbo football

Mahaica Determinators and Camptown FC secured the last spots in the quarter-finals of the Turbo Knock-out Football Tournament through convincing victories on Wednesday evening at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.
Linden’s Winners Connection certainly lacked the fluency they showcased in the past, and faced the wrath of East Coast Demerara’s Determinators, losing 0-3.
The dynamic Eion Abel opened the scores in the 23rd minute, followed by Ozese Halley in the 44th and Curt Adams in the 53rd.

Rawle ‘Boney Man’ Gittens attempted to weave some of his veteran magic, but his efforts were to no avail.
In the other match, Ozeal Smalls’ double helped Camptown outclass Buxton Stars 2-0.
Smalls netted in the 13th and 84th minutes as the Youthful Buxton unit failed to capitalise on the chances they created.
The tournament continues next Wednesday at the same venue with Police clashing with Kuru Kuru, followed by Pele and Grove Hi-Tech.
Action will resume on November 15, when Pouderoyen play Determinators and Linden’s Silver Shattas clash with Camptown. The final is slated for December 3.
