Mahaicony man injured after falling off motorcycle

A motorcyclist has been rushed to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital after he reportedly fell off his bike while negotiating a turn on the Airy Hall Public Road, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Wednesday evening.

The injured man is 24-year-old Akeim Casey of Catherine, Mahaicony ECD.
Preliminary investigations by the Police have revealed that on the day in question, at about 21:00h, Casey was riding a motorcycle along the Airy Hall Public Road in Mahaicony, ECD when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn and fell onto the roadway, sustaining injuries about his body.
He was picked up by public-spirited citizens in a conscious condition and taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital, where he was treated and admitted as a patient.
While at the medical facility, the motorcyclist refused to take a breathalyser test, claiming that his chest was paining.
In addition, the Police could not locate the motorcycle that Casey claimed he fell off. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
