Mahdia, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) resident was on Friday remanded to prison when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on a charge of robbery under arms.
It is alleged that Kevin Anthony on November 21, 2016, at Marudi Backdam, South Rupununi, while armed with a knife, robbed Katiya Dajourn of 96 pennyweights of raw gold, a cellular phone and $119,000 in cash.
The matter was transferred to Lethem Magistrate’s Court where the defendant is scheduled to return on November 28.
