?Makin’ Style Boutique seeks to position its designers, not only to increase their visibility but to promote the enormous economic potential of the local fashion industry. Ultimately, this venture seeks to elevate the status of the fashion industry.
Some of the designers expected to participate are Sonia Noel; Deborah Mathias; Meleesa Payne; Indigenous designer Vanda Allicock; and Shonta Noel,? who is under the label crafted by Chey.?
Patron will be able to buy off the rack or have custom made designs. In addition, patrons can purchase that unique bag and matching jewellery.
“We are building a fashion industry and it is very expensive to operate an individual shop space so I am happy to provide that outlet for local fashion to generate sales,” Noel said.
A wide range of exclusive designs from swimsuit to evening dresses will be on display. Special attires suitable for the Mashramani celebration for men and women will also be available.
Guyanese are encouraged to support all things local and make an effort to add some local designs to your wardrobe or buy as gifts for your family and friend in the Diaspora.
