Sudesh Rambhajue, who was on trial at the Demerara High Court for attempting to murder his father-in-law Latchman Narine Persaud at School Street, Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo on September 18, 2015, will know his fate today.
Unrepresented by legal counsel, Rambhajue led his defence in the matter on Tuesday.
Indicted for the attempted murder of his father-in-law, Rambhajue is also facing a charge of felonious wounding. The jury will determine his innocence or guilty.
According to reports surrounding the matter, Narine Persaud was attacked by the suspect after Persaud had asked him to move out of his house. Persaud explained that after Rambhajue had ignored his request, he sought to repeat it when he saw him approaching his home on the evening in question. Narine Persaud reported that Rambhajue became annoyed, and stabbed him before fleeing the scene.
