Man arrested for gun, ammo possession

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force were on patrol duty on Friday when they arrested a man who was in possession of a firearm and matching ammunition.
According to Police reports, the incident occurred sometime around 17:00h in Central Georgetown.
It was reported that the Police ranks were on routine patrol duties when they stopped and searched a man at Regent and Wellington Streets, Georgetown.
During the search, they uncovered a 9 mm pistol and five live matching rounds of ammunition in his possession.
The man was subsequently arrested and taken into Police custody where he is assisting with investigations.
