Police in Regional Division 4C, East Coast Demerara, have arrested a man who was attempting to break into a female’s house at Buxton ECD on Tuesday.

Police have said that they responded to a domestic violence report made by a 46-year-old woman of Buxton, ECD shortly after midnight on Monday, and arrested a 39-year-old male, whom they searched and unearthed a revolver in the waist of his pants. He was also armed with a cutlass and a small axe.
This man had earlier violently threatened the complainant, and had attempted to enter her premises by breaking windows, in the process of which he had received injuries.
He was promptly arrested and taken to the GPHC, where he is under guard and is being treated for a fractured skull.
Investigations into this incident are in progress.
