Police in Region Nine (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo) have arrested a man who was found in possession of three shotguns and over 100 cartridges.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Jairam Ramlakhan, the discovery was made sometime around 03:00h on Saturday.
He noted that the Police, acting on information, went to Karasabai, located sixty miles from Lethem, and apprehended a male who was in possession of a bag. A search conducted on the man’s belongings unearthed the three shotguns along with 178 cartridges.
The man was taken into custody and is assisting with investigations.
