A man appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Chief Magistrate Ann Mclenan to answer to the charge of being in possession of excess gold without an exporting License at the Eugene F Correia International Airport.
It is alleged that Paul Persaud on February 5, 2016 at the Eugene F Correia International Airport was in possession of gold in excess of 15.5888 ounces of gold without being the holder of an export license. The court was told that the man had the gold in the form of jewelry.
Persaud plead not guilty to the charge and was placed on a $100,000 bail.
He will return to court on August 2.
