Man chopped to death by teenager

A man who was severely chopped about the body succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention at a private hospital in Georgetown on Tuesday morning.
Fifty-five-year-old Wilfred Kippins, who resided on the East Bank of Essequibo, was attacked and chopped on Monday evening by a teenager in his home.
Based on reports, the now dead man’s wife witnessed the altercation and managed to get her husband into the house after which the suspect left.
However, Kippins later left his home and went in pursuit of the suspect.
According to the man’s widow, she was told that her husband attacked the 19-year-oldand in retaliation, the teen dealt him several chops about his body.
The man was left lying on the roadway in a pool of blood. He was later picked up and taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, but relatives later took him to the private hospital.
A report was made at the Parika Police Station, and an investigation was launched. Based on information received, the suspect was arrested and was currently assisting with the investigations.
