Man collapses, dies at LBI

A 67-year-old pensioner reportedly collapsed and died on Friday at about 08:00h in the vicinity of the La Bonne Intention (LBI) Community Centre Ground, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The man has been identified as Jagnarine Narayan of Good Hope, ECD.
When contacted, the Commander of Regional Division 4C, Khali Pareshram, stated there were no marks of violence on the man’s body that suggested foul play was involved.
The man was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. It was only two Fridays ago, a 58-year-old woman collapsed and died while attending the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court.
Gloria Thomas, a housewife of Vigilance South, ECD, had accompanied her son to the court and it was while waiting for the court to begin, Thomas reportedly complained of feeling unwell, and collapsed in the courtroom.
Despite efforts by Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who administered her oxygen, the woman remained unconscious, and was thus rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
