Police in Region Eight (Potaro–Siparuni) discovered a quantity of cannabis on Thursday during a patrol conducted between Paramakatoi Village and Bamboo Creek Village, North Pakaraimas.
During the exercise, ranks observed a male riding a motorcycle acting in a suspicious manner. Police stated that as the patrol approached, the man abandoned the motorcycle along with a black one-strap bag and escaped into nearby bushes.
As such, a search of the bag unearthed a transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of marijuana, which was subsequently taken to the Paramakatoi Police Station, where it was weighed and amounted to a total of 960 grams.
The suspect is being sought as investigations continue.
