Man evades Police after tossing bag with ganja over fence
The Police are on the hunt for a man who reportedly disposed of a bag containing over three kilograms of ganja at Vive-La-Force, West Bank Demerara (WBD) on Wednesday.
Based on reports received, about 12:30h on the day in question, a policeman while in his private vehicle observed some suspicious movements, prompting him to trail a white Toyota Premio motor car from Patentia Public Road to Vive-La-Force, where the car stopped.
A as the car came to a halt, a passenger exited carrying a bulky shopping bag. The individual went through a track while the car drove off.
Still curious, the Policeman followed the man through the track, but upon seeing him, the man threw the bulky shopping bag over an eight-foot fence and then escaped using the sea dam.
The Policeman reportedly went over the fence and retrieved the bag, which was found to contain three packages wrapped in brown tape. The packages turned out to contain the illegal substance. He immediately contacted the Anti-Crime Patrol ranks, who arrived in the area and conducted a search for the suspect, but he was nowhere to be seen.
The bag containing the cannabis was taken to the La Grange Police Station, where it was weighed, amounting to 3.272 kilograms. The Police are continuing their investigations.
