Twenty-two year-old Bab Benjamin, of Suddie Housing Scheme Essequibo Coast, was charged for narcotics possession of 14.3 grams of cannabis.
The defendant appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate Court on Wednesday, January, 14 2026 before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, where the charge was read to him.
Benjamin pleaded guilty and was fined $13,000 along with 90 hours of community service to be undertaken at the Suddie Police Station Compound, with effect from January 15, 2026 for 30 days – in default, six months imprisonment.
