Man found dead with gunshot wound to head

A man whose only name was given as “Tricksie” was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head by Police who were on a mobile patrol along Alexander Street, Georgetown on Friday.
The Police have said they received information that a male was seen lying motionless on Robb Street, and went to the area to inquire. There, they saw the man lying on his back, in a pool of blood. He was clad in a white jersey and a dark-coloured pair of three-quarter pants, and had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his temple area.
Police say that about 12 inches from his right shoulder, a 9mm Glock pistol was found, with a 9mm round of ammunition in the breach. Also, a 9mm spent shell was found at the scene.
The man was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC,) where doctors confirmed his death.
The body is presently at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting proper identification and a post-mortem examination.
Police have since confirmed that the man had taken his own life. This was detected from CCTV footage that was retrieved from a nearby grocery store.
