Freed: Linton Davidson

Following deliberations on Wednesday, the mixed 12-member jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict on each of the six counts.
Accordingly, Davidson, who was represented by Attorney-at-Law Dexter Todd, was discharged by the presiding Judge, who informed him that he was free to go. The case was prosecuted by three State Counsel, namely, Cicelia Corbin, Caressa Henry, and Paneeta Persaud.
According to reports, the girl and Davidson are known to each other. On the day in question, the girl was left in his care by her mother. It was alleged that during that time, Davidson raped her.
The young girl confided in her mother about what transpired and a Police report was made.
Davidson was first charged with the offence in 2020. He had been out on bail pending the hearing and determination of his trial at the High Court. (G1)
