Man found with stab wound to head

A 45-year-old man is battling for his life at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after an unknown male allegedly stabbed him on Sunday.
Reports are that Marlon Hammer of Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supernaam), was chopped at about 07:30h after he left his brother’s B Field Sophia, Georgetown home.
The man’s brother – Monell Hammer – told investigators that after his brother left the house, a juvenile went to his home and informed him that his brother was lying on Dennis Street, Sophia, with what appears to be a wound to the head.
He said he ventured off to the location where he saw his brother on the ground with a wound to the right side of his head and laceration to his body. The man was picked up and rushed to the GPHC, where his condition is listed as critical.
When contacted, Regional Commander of Division 4 A, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean stated that lawmen have since launched an investigation into the matter.
He noted that ranks visited the victim to obtain a statement on Monday but he is still unconscious. (G1)
