Man gets 2 years, fined 100,000 for unlawful possession of ammunition
Marcus King was on Tuesday sentenced to two years’ imprisonment coupled with a fine of 100,000 after he was found guilty on a possession of illegal ammunition charge.
King made his appearance at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on March 5, 2021, where he was charged for being in possession of a .38 round of ammunition at Aranka Landing, Cuyuni River. He initially pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $60,000 by Magistrate Crystal Lambert.
However, the matter went to trial and on Tuesday, he was found guilty as charged and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment along with a fine of $100,000.
