Jermaine Fletcher, who allegedly threatened his father with a gun, was granted bail in the sum of 50,000 when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Courts.
It is alleged that on April 3, 2026, at Independence Boulevard, Georgetown, Fletcher provoked Keith Fletcher, his father, and used threatening language while allegedly brandishing a firearm.
The incident reportedly escalated into threats, prompting the charges of using threatening and aggravating language.
During the hearing, the prosecution objected to bail, citing the seriousness of the offence. When questioned by the magistrate, authorities clarified that no actual firearm was recovered; however, Keith Fletcher stated that the object shown to him resembled a gun.
Fletcher, who resides at 252 Independence Boulevard and works as a porter, denied all allegations. His lawyer asked for reasonable bail and emphasised that Fletcher will attend all court proceedings and has no prior convictions.
After considering submissions, the magistrate granted bail, and the matter was adjourned to April 22, 2026.
