Man on bail for “broadsiding” Linden Town Council employee

A man was on Friday granted $25,000 bail after it was alleged that he assaulted Nieve Mc Almont, an employee of the Linden Mayor and Town Council, who went to his yard to demolish a structure.
Lindsay Parks was arraigned before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on January 21, 2021, at Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), he assaulted Mc Almont, so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
According to the facts of the matter, Mc Almont went to Parks’ yard to demolish a structure, when he was attacked and “broadsided” by him with a cutlass.
The case will continue on January 26. (F1)
