A 24-year-old man was remanded to prison on Friday by Magistrate Fabayo Azore for the Laing Avenue shooting, which claimed the life of Orin Malique David.
Jerome Jeffers is accused of killing David on August 1, 2016, at Laing Avenue, Georgetown.
The prosecution is contending that the accused and the deceased were involved in a heated argument over borrowed money. According to the prosecution’s case, Jeffers left the deceased’s home in a fit of rage and returned in the company of others with a firearm. It is alleged that the accused fired several shots at David, who was at the time standing outside his home. The injured David was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The matter will continue on February 16.
