Man remanded for simple larceny

A man who stole a quantity of jewellery was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Leron Daly after pleading not guilty to a charge of larceny.
It is alleged that on December 17 at Sussex Street, Georgetown, Colin James stole a quantity of gold jewellery valued at $250,000, property of Anthony Nero.
The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that James failed to provide any personal details as regards his place of abode to both the Police and the Court.
As such, Magistrate Daly upheld the prosecution’s submissions and remanded James to prison until January 22, 2018.
