Home News Man remanded on cannabis charge
Magistrate Judy Latchman on Tuesday refused to grant bail to a father of one who was nabbed by Police with more than 200 grams of cannabis in his possession.
Richard Bailey, 32, of Lot 150 Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, stood before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts and denied the charge when it was read to him.
Particulars of the charge stated that on January 25, 2019, while in the vicinity of Turning Point, East La Penitence, Georgetown, he had 220 grams of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Police Prosecutor Quinn Harris objected to bail based on the fact that the cannabis was found in a haversack the defendant was carrying at the time.
As such, bail was refused and Bailey was remanded to prison.
The matter will continue on February 25, 2019.
