A 41-year-old man who supplied the court with multiple home addresses, was remanded to prison on a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Elijah Malai pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
It was alleged that on October 2, 2016, at Robb Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 26.5 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
The prosecution’s facts revealed that Malai, on the day in question, was seen acting in a suspicious manner. As such, he was searched and ranks unearthed 17 small zip-locked bags filled with leaves, stems and seeds.
The unrepresented defendant will make his next court appearance on November 2.
