Two identifiable males on Thursday robbed a 42-year-old male driver of his belongings at Goed Fortuin Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara (WCD).
The man was relieved of an LG 51s cellphone, one transition lens glasses, and $10,000 in cash.
The Police have said that, at about 19:00h on the day in question, the victim was driving a motorcar heading through the Goed Fortuin Scheme when he passed the two men on a bicycle.
The victim told Police that, while driving, he heard one of the men shout, “Who is you, and why you coming through this area?” The driver claimed that he ignored the men and continued his journey with the intention of picking up a family, but he noticed the two men coming behind his vehicle.
One of the suspects started to hit the vehicle with his hand, causing the driver to stop. As he exited the vehicle, one of the suspects tossed the bicycle they were riding at him. They then confronted the driver and dealt him several cuffs and kicks about his body, causing him to fall to the ground, where he was relieved of his valuables, including the cash from the vehicle.
They then made good their escape in an unknown direction. The matter was reported and the victim sought medical attention. Checks were made for the suspects in the said area, but they were not found.
