Man sentenced to 4 years for narco-trafficking

Nigel Clarke was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment by Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul when he appeared at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
He was reportedly charged on July 19, 2021, for possession of 9260 grams of cannabis sativa for the purpose of trafficking. However, on his second court appearance on Monday, he reportedly changed his plea to guilty and as such, he was sentenced and fined $30,000.
Meanwhile, Quacy Weeks was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Faith McGusty when he appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court on an armed robbery charge.
He was arrested on October 22 after be reportedly robbed Amrita Sahadeo. He was not required to plead to the indictable charge and as such was remanded to prison.
