Keon Shaikoo of Lot 88 South Sophia was on Friday released on bail by Magistrate Leron Daly when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to an assault charge.
Shaikoo denied the charge, which stated that on June 5, 2018 he assaulted his common-law wife Lesha Williams with intent to cause her actual bodily harm.
The court heard that, on the day in question, the two had a disagreement which led to Shaikoo assaulting Williams.
An assault charge was also read to Williams, which stated that, on the day in question, she also assaulted Shaikoo.
The Police prosecutor did not object to bail being granted either party, and they were each placed on $10,000 bail. The matter will continue on June 21, 2018.
