Maniram Prashad is Philippines Honorary Consul to Guyana
The Government of Guyana has given its approval to a request made by the
Government of the Philippines for Maniram Prashad to be appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Philippines to Guyana.
This announcement was made by Minister of State Joseph Harmon during a post-Cabinet media briefing on Friday at the Ministry of the Presidency.
Prashad, a former Minister under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic Administration, is the first to be appointed to the post since the two countries established diplomatic ties.
Harmon, in making the announcement, said the move is expected to boost relations between the two countries.
Prashad served as Guyana’s Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister; he also served as the Presidential Advisor on Investment and Trade at the Office of the President prior to his appointment as Minister.
