Marian Academy concluded their Badminton Primary and Secondary school’s tournament on Tuesday which was played at the School’s Auditorium.
The tournament which started on November 7 continued with the outstanding matches leading up to the Semi-Finals and Finals. The young players all played their best and putting their all into the games trying to reach the finals.
In the Secondary School Boys Singles Quarter-finals, Pumshotam Balgobin defeated Rasheed January 21-18, Shemroy Holder defeated Shaquain Sawh 22-20
And Matthew Beharry defeated John Wang 21-7.
Vikash Mootoo defeated Pumshotam Balgobin 21-5 while Matthew Beharry beat Shemroy Holder 21-10 in the Secondary School Boys Singles semis before going onto win the finals 21-18 after overcoming Matthew Beharry 21-18.
Playing in the Secondary School Girls Singles semis, Sacha Parmanand overwhelmed Elesa Sangster 21-8 while Reba Ramlall defeated Amelia Balram 21-6. Ramlall then whipped Parmanand 21-15 to win the finals.
Meanwhile, in the Primary School Boys Singles semi-finals, Nikhil Sookraj crushed Rahul Balram 11-1 as Ruel Rambiriche did the same to Tejasvarun Kandavel, who he trounced 11-3. Rambiriche then stormed to a win after beating Sookraj 11-6 in the finals.
