Travis Porter, a mason of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown who is accused of shooting a man in his groin, has been placed on $150,000 bail after his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly on Friday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Represented by Attorney-at-Law Stacy Goodings, he has pleaded not guilty to the offence of discharging a loaded firearm with intent, wherein it is alleged that on December 29, 2023, at Hill Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, he discharged a loaded firearm at Clive Rodrigues with intent to maim, disable, disfigure, or cause Rodrigues grievous bodily harm.
Police prosecutor Christopher Morris did not object to Porter being placed on bail, but asked that the court impose reporting requirements. Porter is thus required to report weekly at the Brickdam Police Station’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) pending the resolution of the case.
Should he disobey the court’s order, he may have his bail withdrawn and he be taken into custody on remand in prison. His next court date is set for February 16. (G1)
