Mason jailed for simple larceny

A 51-year-old mason was sentenced to three months behind bars on a charge of larceny. He was accused of committing the act at a dwelling house.
Gavin Primo of Lot 49 Railway Embankment, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, was hauled before Magistrate Wanda Fortune virtually at the Linden Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to the charge.
The court heard that on July 4, 2020, at Lot 125 Blue Berry Hill, Primo stole from the dwelling house of Elma Fraser $59,000 – property of Coren Bobb. According to the prosecution’s case, a report was made to the police, and an investigation was immediately launched. Police then visited Primo’s house, where the money was recovered in a mattress.
