Mason slapped with multiple robbery charges

A 37-year-old mason of East La Penitence, Georgetown squatting area was on Friday hauled before the courts after he was slapped with multiple charges of robbery with violence.
Collin Hooper appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly, who read the charges which stated that on January 1, 2019 at D’Urban Park, Georgetown, he robbed Shane Hackett of $10,000 and at the same time, used personal violence.
Other charges stated that on the same date and location, Hooper also robbed Isaiah Moore of $40,000 and a bag valued $4000; Ronaldo Dhanraj of jewellery valued $49,000; Nikko Devenish of $5000 and Shevon Clarke of two gold chains worth $378,000 and used personal violence during each robbery.
Hooper denied the charges. Defence Attorney Clyde Ford, in his bail application, told the court that his client was not a flight risk.
Meanwhile, Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh made no objections to bail. He was released on $100,000 bail and the case was adjourned to February 8, 2018. As a condition for bail, he is required to report to the East La Penitence Police Station until the completion of the case.
