A number of public and private stakeholders were on Wednesday engaged by Massy Technologies Guyana Limited (MTGL) to participate in a workshop and exhibition on power quality solutions for their enterprises and organisations.
The key focus was on a range of supplies from Eaton Distributors, which has been supplying the company with quality equipment for over 20 years. On display were a number of uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), power distribution units, surge protective devices, and power management software that were created to meet

the demands of large and small scale establishments.
The stakeholders were addressed by the General Manager of MTGL, Jason Sahai, who noted that the exhibition would provide an opportunity to highlight the Eaton brand and other marketed products that can assist in power management, supply and control.
“We have experience in vast sectors, and how we operate (is): if you look at the power quality solutions that we’ll be presenting, it doesn’t matter what type of business (you’re running); whether you’re running a data centre or a manufacturing facility or a business, whichever solutions you need, we can provide that through Eaton,” Sahai posited.
“That comes with our partnerships, and one of our partners is Eaton. Eaton is here to work on expanding their product portfolio and sensitising stakeholders on how we can operate going forward with power quality solutions in Guyana,” he added.
While stating some of the achievements that were made after the company’s rebranding, Sahai noted that the aim is to provide the same level of services that are given to other Caribbean countries.
“The presentation and workshops that we have are focused on power quality solutions. This is from the small retails that you can get in stores, like power strips and little power protection units going down to midrange, and then the large units.”
It was related that any type of business in Guyana can capitalise on the services

that are offered, which range from rationalising print solutions, software programming, electronic security solutions, and computer equipment, among others. The newest introduction to the list is a disaster recovery and advanced communication system for emergency disaster response.
“We’re upgrading that system to meet the international standards, where all these organisations and persons that are on it would be able to work through that facility in emergency response,” he disclosed.
Additionally, one of the representatives from Eaton Distributors, Everton McKenzie, explained that partnerships with renowned companies such as Massy would enable increased public awareness on the products and services that are being offered.
“We consider ourselves partners with companies like Massy, so you (the stakeholders) will be informed and share the same experience. We would like to be here, but we can’t be here, so it’s important to have that partnership,” McKenzie said.
McKenzie also underscored the importance of a stable and reliable power supply, since the global demand for energy, liquid petroleum, LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting and food production is on the rise, and will continue to do so in the coming years.
