In opening remarks, General Manager Robert Singh stated that the rapid expansion is the organisation’s way of responding to the request of its customers.
“…because you the customer requested it. Because you the shopper deserves it. You the customer asked for a better shopping experience and so you the shopper deserves the best shopping experience,” Singh expressed.
The General Manager went on to state that, “Massy Stores is now on a mission. A mission to deliver a best-in-class retail experience in Guyana”.
The store has a number of local produce, meat, prepared meals and baked goods, a wide variety of product lines from globally recognised brands, and various options such as gluten free and vegan products.
In addition to this, the store also has a MoneyGram and Sure Pay outlet, along with a pharmacy, all of which are located within the store.
Moreover, customers will benefit from loyalty rewards, while teachers are expected to benefit from special discounts.
“We have a robust and exciting loyalty programme that continuously rewards our shoppers. Bonus rewards are there every time you shop… this reward programme is applicable and transferrable within all our retail centres. We’ve also incorporated a special discount fort our teachers. Our teachers will be benefitting from a special discount every time they shop at any Massy supermarket,” Singh further revealed.
Massy Stores Guyana launched its first ever “Massy Stores Mini Supermarket” at their D3 Starlight Square Montrose, East Coast Demerara (ECD) location back in May this year and a second mini supermarket valued at $138 million in Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara (WCD) in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) in September, as the company seeks to expand its services and products across the country.
Its larger locations are at Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD), and Turkeyen in the MovieTowne compound which were opened in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
