Mayors Cup tournament continues this weekend

The 22nd edition of the Mayors Cup knock-out tournament continues this Sunday, July 17 with triple header action at the Victoria Ground, on the East Coast of Demerara.

In the opening game; Campbellville based team – Campton will take on Uitvlugt at 17:00h while in the second contest Riddim Squad will face off against Eagles from the mining town of Linden at 19:00h. The third contest of the evening will be a quarter-final affair between Ann’s Grove and Cougars at 21:00h.

On Friday July 22 there will be another triple header at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground in the city. In the opening encounter, police will challenge Pouderoyen from 17:00h then from 19:00h Santos will come up against Beavers. The final contest for the evening will see Western Tigers tackle Den Amstel at 21:00h.

The top four prizes are compliments of Aruwai Resorts, Ansa McAl, John Fernandes and German’s Restaurant respectively.

The winner of the tournament will receive $700,000 and a trophy from Aruwai Resort. Runner up will receive $300,000 and the Ansa McAl trophy, third place will receive $200,000 and a trophy from John Fernandes while fourth place will take home $100,000 and the Ministry of State trophy. Winners will also receive hampers from Ricks and Sari.

Top scorer of the tournament will be rewarded with a 3-piece suite from AH&L Kissoon.
