He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that he drove his vehicle in a dangerous manner, causing the death of Mitford Cambridge.
On June 11, the vehicle assigned to the Mayor of Georgetown, Ubraj Narine, slammed into three other vehicles along the Turkeyen Public Road. In the process, Cambridge was injured and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was admitted but died one day later.
Cambridge was reportedly sitting in his car at the time of the accident and had sustained severe bodily injuries.
At the time of the smash-up, the Mayor was not in the vehicle but Bond, told traffic ranks that he had fallen asleep, causing the vehicle to collide with the concrete median and subsequently barrel into three vehicles parked in the vicinity of MovieTowne.
Just under a month ago, seven parked cars were badly damaged as a result of a speeding car losing control in the vicinity of Liliendaal on the East Coast of Demerara.
Meanwhile, Bond will return to court on July 31.
