MCY&S staff committed to supporting new Minister to advance sector
Newly-appointed Culture, Youth, and Sport Minister under the Dr Irfaan Ali Government, Charles Ramson Jr, had his first meet-and-greet with the staff of the Ministry on Thursday.
Minister Ramson Jr was given a tour of his new Main Street, Georgetown place of work by Permanent Secretary Melissa Tucker.
Ramson Jr received all assurances that the Ministry’s staff stood ready to support him in advancing the development of culture, youth and sport in Guyana.
The Minister said, “The battle was hard but worth it. It’s time to heal and unite, knowing that we are a changed country as we build the future generation of our beautiful people. Thank you for all your support and faith.”
He explained that over the last five years, Guyana has had no proper leadership in culture, youth, and sport. As such, he relayed that he has a robust plan to transform and unite Guyanese in the area of sport.
Ramson Jr, 36, recently graduated from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, with a Master of Science Degree in Oil and Gas Engineering.
He previously graduated with a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School, University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, and LL B (Hons.) Law Degree from the University of Buckingham, Buckingham, England, United Kingdom.
