A 31-year-old mechanic has been arrested after cops found 5000 grams of cannabis in his possession on Sunday at the Berbice River Bridge.

Reports are that Police ranks acting on information intercepted a minibus in which the man was a passenger. Upon conducting a search, the cops discovered the cannabis concealed in three wrapped plastic parcels. The suspect, who hails from Litchfield, West Coast Berbice, was immediately detained by the police and is being processed for court.
